The “Abylkas Saginov Karaganda Technical University,” originally established as the Karaganda Mining University in 1958 and later restructured into a Technical University, is now at the forefront of scientific research and education. With five state-of-the-art research laboratories, including those in digitalization, and a specialized institute for digital educational technologies that develops its own portals and campaigns, the university demonstrates its innovative capacity.
The educational offerings include 45 bachelor’s and 23 master’s degree programs in diverse fields such as business administration, mining, industrial audits, industrial engineering, electronics, telecommunications, mechanical engineering, and information technology. These programs reflect the university’s broad academic scope and underscore its role as an educational pioneer.
In close cooperation with leading industrial companies, the university promotes the training of qualified professionals and the implementation of scientific standards based on the digital technologies of Industry 4.0. Additionally, the university places great emphasis on international cooperation, for instance, with the Technical University of Košice in Slovakia, the Vilnius Technical University in Lithuania, and the University of Lorraine in France, to intensify experience exchange and knowledge transfer.
