Tashkent State Technical University, founded in 1920, is one of Uzbekistan’s leading technical institutions. Originally established as the technical faculty of Turkestan State University, it evolved through several transformations, including becoming the Tashkent Polytechnic Institute and, in 1991, TSTU. In 2017, the university was renamed in honor of Islam Karimov, the first president of Uzbekistan.

The university has 7 faculties and offers a broad range of programs in engineering, technology, energy, and mechanical disciplines, catering to more than 21,000 students. It is involved in several international partnerships, with 175 global university and research collaborations. TSTU also offers significant opportunities for research, publishing over 600 articles in prestigious journals and running 15 scientific labs.

TSTU is actively involved in student development, providing numerous extracurricular clubs and sports activities. The university has 13 dormitories for students and offers digitalized accommodation systems for convenience.
